The Team are proud to announce that they will be flying with the new Alpha Eagle helmet, fitted with active noise reduction (ANR) for their 2006 display season all care of Headset Services and Helmet Integrated Systems Ltd.

Members of the team have used Alpha helmets for many years as fast jet military pilots and are very impressed with the combination of lightness and comfort that the new Alpha Eagle helmet provides.

With a nominal weight of only 980 grams, the Alpha Eagle reduces the overall g loading to the pilot’s head and neck. The epoxy resin aramid carbon fibre shell, with an EPS inner liner and cushioned cloth interior, combines high levels of protection with exceptional wearer comfort.

Helmet Integrated Systems Ltd (HISL) developed the Alpha Eagle helmet for use by the pilots and crews of helicopters and fixed wing, non-ejection seat aircraft, used in a variety of operations including police air support, air ambulance and crop spraying.

The high comfort and protection factors of the Alpha Eagle have resulted in its choice by more and more pilots flying their own aerobatic aircraft and those flying general aviation open cockpit and ‘war bird’ aircraft.

As a result of its selection by the Yakovlevs, many more pilots will see the aerobatic team flying with the Eagle during their 2006 programme
