Sandringham Show attracted plenty of visitors this year, including HRH Prince Charles and the Duchess Of Cornwall, who paid the show a visit. Even Dame Judi Dench made an appearance.
Sandringham Show is one of the biggest one-day shows in the country, and the Yakovlevs gave a display in the main ring to thrill the crowds, with Sandringham House and Sandringham Church as a backdrop.
More than 22,000 of people came out to enjoy the sunshine and thrilling displays. Organised on a voluntary basis, the show benefits many charities, and is now in its 127th year.

Last weekend meant another bumper-to-bumper series of displays for the Yakovlevs, as they gave a four-ship display at the Silverstone Circuit, followed by a cross-country transit for displays over the beautiful scenery of Windermere, and RAF Woodvale.
Silverstone was opened as a World War Two airfield in 1943. Five years later, Silverstone's first racing event took place; the RAC Grand Prix. The crowds came in their thousands that year, and this year the turnout was great as well at the 2008 Silverstone Classic event, where the Yaks gave their four-ship display. The Yakovlevs are looking forward to a repeat performance next year.

The Yakovlevs were invited last month to give a talk on what they do best – running a successful team – at Australian Technical College, near the Gold Coast and Brisbane, Australia.
Jez gave a power point presentation to a class of around 20 young students on what it means to be part of the Yakovlevs, and how the team operates. The youngsters take classes on subjects such as engineering and construction, and his visit was part of a career day held at the college.
Afterwards Jez was presented with a few keepsakes for his visit. The team hopes to have another invite very shortly to this spectacular venue.

Liverpool hosted the world-famous Tall Ships Race last month, and the Yaks were there to welcome back the ships and their crew in spectacular fashion.
Participating ships came from countries as diverse as Brazil, Mexico, Bulgaria and Oman to the European Capital of Culture. The Yakovlevs brought their four-ship display to thrill and entertain the crowds on Monday 21 July, and send the Tall Ships on their way. The ships will end their race in Den Helder, The Netherlands.
The team really enjoyed taking to the skies over Liverpool, and wish the ships well on their journey. Take a look at the Yaks in action by

Iain Jack, general manager of Shell lubricants, surprised team leader Jez Hopkinson with a new addition to his fleet of aircraft - a miniature Yak50 model, made especially for the team.
He presented Jez with the model during Aero Expo, an exhibition held near London, dedicated to aviation.
"We are delighted to give this to Jez," Iain said. "The Yakovlevs and Shell have worked together for years, and we hope to continue to strengthen this relationship further."
The model was given in recognition of the many years Shell and the Yakovlevs have been working together as partners.
"I really appreciate this gesture from Shell, which cements our relationsh ...

Aero Expo was another great success this year, with hundreds of exhibitors and visitors attending the event. The Yakovlevs returned to one of their favourite shows in the year, to support their partners; Garmin, Shell and Emery Little Insurance.
The show, held at Wycombe Air Park (Booker), featured many attractions, including one of the team's Yak50s, right outside the Garmin stand. Jez, lead pilot and owner of the Yakovlevs was in attendance, as were Philip Moore and Sanne van Maurik, part of the ground ...

The team has just been expanded, to include a new ground support vehicle. After much deliberation, a silver Ford Focus was selected to go with the aircraft, and the transit van already in use by the Yakovlevs.
After a quick re-vamp, the Ford Focus support vehicle now fits in perfectly, complete with sponsors' logos and the Yakovlevs colour scheme.
The van has come in very useful over the years to transport all the kit and tools the four aircraft need during the display season, while the compact Ford Focus has already proven to be invaluable for getting around town, and transferring pilots.
More additions are planned for the future, so keep an eye on the website to find out more!
